Very pertinent post during these hectic times Tom. Recallibration of the mind during these times will ensure that the right decisions are made to prioritise areas of focus moving forward. Your venue for your colleague collaboration looked like the ideal place to clear the mind.
Many thanks for that, Robert - and yes the gathering did indeed go well. The aim of the gathering was to get general agreement on the direction that the enterprise-architecture needs to take forward into the future, and I do believe we're getting there. There's a lot of follow-up work we need to do to get into usable form, but the main emphases on expanding outward from the old IT-centric box, on 'democratising' the architecture-work, and on providing better means to bring up the next generation of enterprise-architects do all look good already. It didn't far enough from my perspective, of course, though I'll freely admit that I'm still too much of an outlier for most mainstream folks' tastes! But yeah, it's working well.
(We also had fun with the skills-learning labyrinth, but that's another story!)
I appreciate these posts very much Tom - this was a reminder that we are human beings living an experience - so many things to notice when in honest solitude, and there is dignity in the personal meanings we experience as journey. Thank you for this framing of "usefully alone" - I am taking that with me, making this indeed a useful read!

I hope it went well.
